Long Road Home

We’re almost there!  Our road into our property is nearly completed.  Man, does it ever look good!  It is starting to look like a real building site.  We have loads of wood to cut and transport back here (to Wakaw)…and Bill has the wood stove to hook up, but all in all it will be a toasty winter here.  It’s cold enough now that the ice may be frozen enough to skate on the pond.  We should know this weekend.

It will snow tonight.  Not much, mind, but enough to let you know that winter is looming.  Soon the vast prairieland we drive past each day will become a huge white blanket that reaches out to the horizon on all sides.  Each season brings with it wonderful surprises – beauty around each corner.  Winter will bring snow, and with that, snowmobiles, skiing and skating, bonfires to burn brush and hot chocolate to warm the innards.  Bring it on!
