We had a wonderful and restful four-day Thanksgiving weekend in Wakaw this year. We celebrated the holiday with Tara, Kristen and JM. Tara and Kris drove the 9 hours from Calgary (I swear we can do that drive in 7 hours!!) to be with us and it sure is wonderful to have family around you during the holidays, especially when you don’t see them so often. It’s one of many things I am thankful for this year.
I am thankful. I’m thankful that, after 16 1/2 years of getting to know each other (AKA retraining each other ), my husband and I are still (and perhaps more than ever) madly in love with each other. These days, that’s quite a milestone. I’m thankful that all our kids are healthy and funny and adventurous and brave and sweet and talented and good looking!! I’m thankful for our land in Tway – for there, we find peace. I’m thankful for our dogs, who provide us hours of entertainment and unconditional love. I’m thankful for the sunrises, sunsets and endless sky.
In life, you can’t be too thankful. Every breath you take is by the grace of an invisible, omnipotent force greater than yourself. Each thought that crosses your mind is pulled from a universal well; an infinity of wisdom. Yes, be thankful that you live and learn and love, and that every day you not only grow older, but closer to your own perfection.
Happy Thanksgiving all!
